Asset Skills
Asset Skills has accepted in principle the adoption of a Whole Organisation Approach to Skills for Life. A combined strategy is being developed for Employability, Literacy, Language and Numeracy to raise awareness of the skills across the sector. In conjunction with the South West LSC Skills for Life leaflets have been developed to support the take up of Train to Gain into the sector.

Improve
Improve is working with both food and drink employers and training providers to address literacy, language and numeracy skills needs. Through developing Food and Drink Employability Criteria, Improve has provided employers, employees and training providers with a method of identifying the employability skills required for different job roles. Improve has also worked in partnership with other Sector Skills Councils to develop ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) for Work Vocabulary Lists, which help those who are learning English to better understand specific work terms. The Skills Toolkit which Improve has also contributed to through partnership working is a guide that includes several tools for developing employability skills.

Skills for Care
Skills for Care has developed a Skills for Life strategy for the adult social care sector in England. Skills for Health
