Here are some more materials to help you practise your skills. There are two types of resources. One set is on line and takes you to other web sites. The second set has downloadable resources, which you can print out.

This is a BBC web site with factsheets, games, quizzes and worksheets. Click on the link for the Reading section and try the activities on ‘Scanning’ and ‘Skimming’.

This is a Key Skills web site for students. Click on the link and follow the instructions.
Key Skills Trainer - Select 'Enter site' next to Key Skills > Trainer
- Select 'Click here to continue without logging in'
- Select 'Communication and Application of Number Level 1'
- Select 'Check your skills and learn'
- Select 'Reading' (under Communication)
- On page 1, look at ‘Find and use facts’ and ‘Find and recognise opinions’.
